Mystery Shopping...

I only stayed quiet because I am still struggling to get used to the techno part of blogging. Its is amazing how the "youngsters" are so good at this. I admire my daughter for how exciting her blog is and each post has pics.
I am digressing... I have been Mystery shopping for the past 4-5 years now.
It all started with Ilhaam looking for something to do to earn extra money. As she started when she had no driver's or learner's, I had to taxi her around. I became fed up having to wait for her and asked her to suggest to to A&S (her employers) to give me also the opportunity.  I thought i was too old for this and that they would probably not say yes. The next moment , I was asked to attend training and I have never looked back ...
So now I have become one of A&S' Cape Town co-ordinators , I think LOL,as i had to give training to about 10 newlings...
Mystery Shopping is very daunting to most people. Some never even heard about it.
What is Mystery Shopping you might ask?  Basically, it is doing assessment of a store's Customer Service level, using set out standards, in a certain prescribed period and place. The store visit is done anonymously, hence the word Mystery, and the report filled out afterwards.
Some of the stores, you get given money to make a purchase, but :-( have to return the items..
Almost all the time , it is fun' hubby just accusing me of lying too easy LOL...
You never look at shopping the same, ever. You start assessing everybody and place around you...the work's toilets, kitchen, the cafe on the corner LOL...but what an opportunity. I have been in stores,  I would not thn of going to...

Travel Blog

So my husband and I are booked for a 2day stay at Old Macdaddy trailer park in Elgin. Groupon had a very tempting special, and I couldnt say No.
We arrived late afternoon yesterday and had a funtime unpacking and booking in with a quite a strong drizzle coming down. Main reason for coming here was to kickstart my cycling season that was put aside during Ramadaan.
So here we unpacking, and having to climb a multitude of stairs to get to our trailer. First thought was, if the weather stays like this, I would have had enough exercise LOL

The place- the park is nestled amongst the hillocks on this farm in Valley Road, Elgin. It has about 12 trailers of various sizes and one big family sized villa set up amongst the most glorious piece of land, with a lot of water features, lakes, waterfalls, a pristine pool and even a fountain. This is just the place to come to if you wanna unwind and switch off.
The communal quarters, house the reception area, a playroom for kids, TVroom, restaurant, library, pool area and more. It is built like a barn, but like the trailers, the decor is minimalist but tasteful. Most trailers, has a living area and bathroom built onto the trailers. The trailers, this is something else. Each one has a theme. Ours is PRIVATE LIFE OF PLANTS. I am totally enthralled by the decor.

Igsaan and I went on a ride this morning, ouch! I didnt realise how unfit I was...i am sitting here now, cos he went on another ride and I have an hour before I must drive with the van to go meet him.
I'm new at this...blogging, so gonna try to post some pics, else go look on my Facebook profile...so here goes..

Starting Out

From much pressure from my daughters Nuhaa and Ilhaam and several other friends I have spoken to, I am at last putting thoughts to "paper" and going ahead with my blog. More about me in later posts, but for now; what is this all about?
I am a 40-something wife and mother of 4 that simply loves life and embraces anything that life throws my way. I always see the good in everything, people, situations, etc...
So bear with me, and enjoy the journey with me.
